Restylane dermal fillers are suitable for any person older than 21 years old who would like to refresh their overall appearance. Since it has several formulas, your treatment plan will be personalized to meet your needs and concerns. Restylane may help you address the initial signs of aging, such as fine facial lines, or increase the fullness in your cheeks and lips. It may also reduce severe wrinkles, like frown lines, laugh lines, Crow's feet, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and more. Certain Restylane formulas have lidocaine for your comfort, so you need to share any allergies at your pre-treatment consultation with your injector to prevent a negative reaction.

Restylane treatments are performed in the office at SkinMD in a treatment room by one of our Restylane injectors. A numbing cream may be put on the treatment areas for greater comfort if desired. The filler will be injected into your skin with a fine-gauge needle and then the skin will be massaged so it reaches the selected areas. Several injections may be performed followed by a cold compress to subdue inflammation. 

Once your Restylane treatment is finished, you may resume normal activities. Your recovery period will vary based on what you are having treated, so ask your Restylane injector about what you should expect. The treated areas may be slightly swollen and red, but this typically fades away within a day. Bruising may occur, but this may be camouflaged with cosmetics. It's suggested that you avoid strenuous activity for a day, and you should sleep with the head propped up for at least one night. Many patients will see visible changes right after the procedure, but it usually takes 1 – 2 weeks until the final results develop. Restylane injections last around one year based on the formula selected.
